7 Things You Can’t Wear After Labor Day

We’re not ones to buy into so-called fashion rules. In fact, we think most are pretty lame—especially those that mandate what you can and cannot wear once Labor Day ends. (Um, white shoes are a must year round, people.)

However, there are a few particular things that should be packed away once summer ends, not because any hard-and-fast rules exist, but rather because they simply are so seasonal, that they’ll look out of place come fall. Most of these items are fabric related—lighter textiles such as airy white cotton, linen, canvas, and seersucker probably won’t be of use to you during the autumn months.
Below, here are 7 things you probably want to think about packing away once labor day weekends comes to a close. The good news? You still have five days to work ’em into your outfits!

Eyelet

Perhaps the most summery fabric of all, delicate eyelet is made from super lightweight cotton that’s just not made for fall.
If you love the look of delicate eyelet, try: Mesh pieces as the weather gets cooler—it’s thicker and more seasonal.

A big floppy straw hat

Nothing says summer more than a glamorous oversize straw hat—which is why they should be packed away after Labor Day.

If you love the look of a big straw beach hat, try: A felt or wool version for fall. You can quite literally replicate the hat’s drama, just in a more seasonally-appropriate fabric.

Flower crowns

Flower crowns, flower headbands, or fresh flowers in your hair reads way too summery for fall. Proof: would you wear a flower crown with sweaters and jackets? Probably not, right?
If you love the look of flower crowns, try: Another killer hair accessory, like a knotted headscarf, a turban, or a headchain.

Photo: Late Afternoon

Floral Short-Shorts

Floral short-shorts doesn’t really translate past the summer months. Why? Because they’ll look strange paired with any fall staples like ankle boots, sweaters, or leather jackets, or tights.
If you love the look of floral shorts, try: Distressed denim shorts in basic blue. These still work in the fall when paired with all of the above.

Light linen

Linen is another fabric that—like eyelet—should be packed away once summer ends, thanks to its light weight, easy-to-wrinkle makeup, and overall breezy appearance.
If you like the look and feel of linen, try: Fall-appropriate chambray instead.

Photo: Late Afternoon

Seersucker

Another quintessentially summer fabric, seersucker should be reserved for beach weekends, barbecues, and boat trips.
If you love the look of seersucker, try: Breton striped shirts. They’ve got a similar nautical vibe, but can be worn all fall and winter.

Strapless maxi dresses

Nothing says summer like a loose, printed floor-grazing maxi dress in a super-lightweight fabric, especially strapless varieties.
If you love the look of loose maxi dresses, try: A long-sleeve version. They still have the breezy boho factor, but look incredibly chic and seasonal when paired with anything from pumps to boots.

Seven Major Fashion Trends that Rocked in 2015

Fashion Trends Girls

still cant believe 2015 is almost ended, we have just a day left to say goodbye forever? I want to say 2015 wasnt my year but then this is the year , I brought forth my firstborn and that in my books make up for every other setback so yeah 2015 was a great one for me. I hope to make better strands financially in 2016 though but this post is not about my resolutions but rather about the trends that banged this year, as we all know, the 70s did a major comeback this year, the A – Line minis, the Flares, Suede, Velvet, Fur to mention but a few, there were so many cool trends this year , matter of fact, in my opinion, this was the year of experimenting and owning your style.

PS – I know some of you unlike me tend to stay away from trends but surely you must have fallen hard on your face flat for one of these trends, so tell me, what trend really got you this year and what trend would you not be caught dead in?

Camel beige colored outfit is a must-have for those ladies who want something unique and individual. Go for a nice fedora, knitted oversized sweater, relaxed skirt and white sneakers::

Sneakers everything – I am totally crushing on this trend especially the white sneaks but then if you are a regular on the blog, you would know by now, it was on my christmas wishlist and Santa aka the mail man is about to make it happen asap. Sneakers ruled this year, it was worn with everything, with dinner dresses, suits, maxis, midis every damn thing and the surprise for me was how cool it looked, seriously who would have thought sneakers with suits?

Want to dress like Olivia Palermo at New York Fashion Week? Well thanks to the high street you can, and for just £21... http://lookm.ag/Jl73vz:

Culottes – aka coolottes was major this year, there is just something cool , chic and easy about a pair of culottes worn with flats or heels, they were tricky to wear though especially if you aint tall and slim, you needed to get one that hit just right to avoid cutting off your legs and making you appear frumpy and the rest is easy peasy, dressed down or up, they were a hit.

21 Times Christian Louboutin Wedding Shoes Made Us Fall in Love - wedding shoes;:

Lace up Heels – For real, these shoes sexified everything, like you could literally wear a sac , tie on these pair of sex on your feets and watch yourself transform into a sexy siren, excuse the pun but that’s how bad these were.

Flare Pants – I loved this trend though for some reason, I never committed to it, I think after I missed out on those lovely ones by Zara that  almost every budget fashionista had, I just kinda blanked it out, its hard to find one with the exaggerated flare, high waist and budget friendly.

#Inspired:

OvertheKnees boots – Once upon a time, OTK boots were seen as doing too much and very hard to pull off but this year , its like people threw fucks to the air and finally tamed these boots, they were worn ever so simply on a jean pants, with minis, midis and even maxis.

green suede dress with boots:

Suedette – They came in almost everything, from coats to dresses, shoes, bags, skirts, everything sueded this season and I was fully on board, just take a look at my outfit post, click the WHAT I WORE menu.

Model-Off-Duty Style: Elsa Hosk Masters The '70s Denim Skirt Trend:

A – Line Mini Skirt – It was the year of the legs wasn’t it? Midis were ditched for these A-Line beauties and the best part, they looked good on every body shape and fit so easy with almost anything.

How to Be Sexy, Yet Classy

There have been very few women throughout history that have managed to ride the very fine line between sexy and classy. Elizabeth Taylor is one. That woman walks into a room and commands attention. Why? Because she is hot, but not in a slutty or stupid-girl kind of way. She clearly has character and grace, in addition to her sex appeal

That’s just the kind of persona that Julia Roberts was going for (and succeeded at, in my opinion) in her role in the movie Pretty Woman. When she got dressed up in that elegant, floor length red gown for the Opera, it was clear why Richard Gere couldn’t take his eyes off her. She was beautiful, sensual and elegant. What woman doesn’t dream of that at some point in her life?

Although you may not live a life like Liz Taylor or have someone buy you top designer outfits like Julia Roberts, you can still dress in a manner that will get a man’s blood pumping without suggesting that you’re easy. You just have to know a few pointers.

Don’t bare it all

amazing-blond-woman-with-blue-eyes

Some women go overboard in an attempt to prove their sexiness by wearing outfits that show cleavage, reveal their midriff and are cut clear up to their hips. While it’s great to have full body confidence, that doesn’t mean that you have to show it all for the world to see. Not all at once anyway.

There’s nothing appealing about a woman who leaves nothing to the imagination. Half the fun of being with someone else is exploring their body and learning it firsthand. If you show it all from day one, what incentive is there to look any further? He’ll see what he wanted to see and move on.

The key to being sexy but still retaining your class is to only show one area at a time. If you want to show off your chest then go for it, but leave your legs and tummy covered up. Or, if you are proud of your belly and all the work you’ve put into keeping it slim and trim, then reveal some flesh, but wear something that doesn’t show off your other areas at the same time.

Be mysterious

When other people have to wonder what you’re about because you’re not a tell-all type of woman, that’s when you climb the ladder of sex appeal. You create this aura that draws people in and makes them want to know you more.

As women, this can be a hard one to master. Why? Because we’re talkers. We like to share almost everything about ourselves, from our thoughts to our feelings, and our fears to our victories. We’re willing to tell you pretty much everything you want to know.

However, if you can just keep some of your personal issues under wraps, you’ll find that the mysteriousness will work for you. It makes you hard to figure out which is appealing to many men. They like the challenge of seeing if they can get you to open up.

It’s like a hunting expedition to them. They will use their skills to pursue you and will work relentlessly on learning more about you until they get the information they’re out to get. The longer you hold out, the more intrigued they become, and the sexier you are to them.

Mind your posture

Being suggestive yet tasteful is more than just about the clothes you wear. It’s about what kind of presence you portray. It’s about how you stand and how you walk and the self-esteem you show.
Julia Roberts is a great example of this. In her role in Pretty Woman she started out as a woman with very poor posture. She was always slouching and constantly being reminded to sit up straight. And, did you notice what a difference it made when she actually corrected it?
She went from looking just okay to being absolutely phenomenal! You could see on her face and in her walk that she knew she was special and the more you watched her, the more you knew it too.
A woman who is self-assured and not willing to be pushed around is the icon of sexiness and character. She’s the woman that men love to love and women love to hate.

Keep your manners

When you think of the women through time that were able to walk the tight rope act between classy and sexy, one thing always shines through and that is their manners. They are the ones that would say please, thank you and excuse me. They didn’t walk all over anyone else to get where they wanted to go. They lived with style and grace.

You can be firm without being aggressive. You can make sure that no one treats you like a door mat without having to pull the bitch card. Sure, there’s a time and a place when it becomes necessary, but most of the time you’ll do just as well keeping your manners in the forefront.
Never forget that other people have feelings too. A little kindness, even when it is not deserved, goes a long way. Be nice to others because that’s who you are, not because they deserve it.

Don’t be impulsive

elegant couple having dinner

Some women will never be able to pull off sexy and classy because they prefer the drama that comes with acting on impulse. When something happens, they just react without much thought. Usually it ends up with them looking pretty foolish and there’s nothing classy about that.
Just because something is happening doesn’t mean that you have to react to it right then. In fact, you shouldn’t. Best case scenario is to give the situation time to resonate before doing something you may later regret.

Does that mean that you won’t ever feel like ripping someone’s head off or crying for hours on end? No. It just means that you’ll choose to react later when you can do it on your own terms and in your own way.
When someone does something that upsets you or ticks you off, stay calm and sit on it for a while. Save yourself the embarrassment of responding in a potentially inappropriate way. After all, a woman with elegance is always a woman.

Being sexy and classy is more about attitude and character than it is about dress. The key is finding your sexiness and using it to work for you, not against you. With these tips, you’ll be able to do just that.

8 Tips to Make Your Legs Look Longer & Beautiful

One of the things girls pay most attention to is how their legs look like. We would all like them thin, tanned, stretch marks free and long, very long. Unfortunately, not all of us are blessed with mile long legs, so we have to apply a couple of tricks. Here they are.

These tips are easy, but very effective. If you follow them, I guarantee that your legs will look not only longer, but also prettier. Check it out!

1. High Heels and Platforms

Let me start by stating the obvious – yes, wearing high heels and platform shoes will make your legs look longer. They will give you a couple of inches in height, but they should not be worn at all times.
High heels and platforms are not that good for your health and wearing them often can cause pains in your feet, ankles, knees, hips and even in your spine. Try to save them for special occasions and choose more comfortable shoes for every day.

2. The Color of Your Shoes

It’s not all about wearing high heels, your legs can look visually longer in flats too, only if you hit the right color. Believe it or not, black is not the best choice. Wearing black shoes actually makes you look shorter, because they make your feet look smaller. Great for tall girls, but for short ones – not so much.
The shoes you are looking for are as closest to the natural tone of your skin as possible. That way, the line between your legs and your shoes will not be so obvious. The result – your legs will look longer.

3. Shorts and Skirts

Woman wearing white skirt

Logically, the shorter your shorts or skirt, the longer your legs will look. However, you can’t really walk around in something that looks more like underwear than like shorts, so here’s another solution.

Buy shorts and skirts that have high waist. That way, you’ll make the part of your legs above your knees visually longer, because it will seem that your waist line is higher than it is.

4. A – line Skirts

Another great trick to make your legs look longer is to wear a – line skirts and dresses. The length of the skirt or the dress itself here is not really of great importance, it could very well be down to the ground, the pattern is what matters.
A – line skirts and dresses are tight at your waist and then go wider. It is exactly that wideness that makes your legs visually longer. Embrace the a – line pattern.

5. Jeans and Pants

Young Woman Wearing Jeans And Black High Heels

Unlike the skirts, jeans and pants that are wider at the bottom actually make your legs look shorter. When it comes to jeans and pants, your choice should be dark skinny jeans and straight pants that are just little bit longer than they should be.

There’s a great trick hiding in here. If you put on a pair of jeans and pants that are just 1” longer than they should be and combine them with high heel shoes, so that you don’t step on them, your legs will get that 1” in length. However, don’t go crazy with this, because if you are stepping on your pants, you’ll get the quite opposite effect.

6. Black Stockings

They are elegant, they are sexy and they make your legs look longer – the black stockings are your friends. These are especially effective if you have short, slightly chunky legs. The stocking itself will nicely pack your leg and hide all the imperfections, while the dark color will make them look both thinner and longer. Great, right?

7. Discreet Glow

If you’re not really a fan of stockings and prefer your legs to be naked, there’s a great solution for you too. It is called the discreet glow.
Buy a body glow or a sparkling body lotion and apply in a very thin layer (remember the key word here is discreet) along the outer line of your legs – from ankles to hips. This thin vertical line of glow will give a discreet accent to the longest line of your legs, thus making them look longer.

8. Attitude

As with any other beauty problem, your attitude is the best solution. The best products in the world will not help you unless you are a confident individual. So, put that pretty skirt and your favorite pair of shoes on and walk into a night club as if your legs were the longest legs on earth. Trust me, this works like a charm.
Well, those are the tips I have for you. If you can contribute with your own tip on how to make your legs look longer, feel free to do so in comments.

Personally, I have two chambray shirts that I can’t live without: one in a darker wash, and one in a lighter wash. I would recommend getting both, because they’re so great to have and each will feel fresh in it’s own way. I love the darker wash for fall and winter, while the lighter wash is perfect for spring and summer – but really, they can both be worn whenever.

Quick Outfit of the day with Loreal Moist Matte Lipstick Orange Power

orange-outfit1

You know sometimes you buy stuff that you just dump at the back of your closet and then a year later rediscover it and go OMGHHKP ! I could wear that. Well this orange top is one of those moments. I bought it aaaggges ago (i think 3 years back from Asos).  Its got this whole drop sleeve thing happening, it dips low in the front and has rouching on the tummy. Somehow never really got around wearing it until recently when we were going out for a casual dinner with friends . Tucked in top, jeans and a chunky gold necklace (my favourite that one) is all for a casual night out.

orange-lipstick-how-to-wear

This would also look great with white cigarette pants , or a super high waisted pencil skirt ! I actually thought of this because of my new L’oreal Moist Matte Lipstick in Orange Power- what a perfect lipstick to co-ordinate with haan ? Though honestly I also throw on that lipstick whenever I have something blue on (Blue + orange= winning combination).
Full review of the moist matte coming soon girlies !

A Warm Winter Outfit Of the Day !

blue-and-orang-outfit-001

I genuinely believe that there are two kinds of people who never feel cold in life. The first are Penguins , and the other are teenage  girls in Delhi ! I know i was one of them but now i cannot for the life of me understand how you can put on a slinky strappy dress when literally it feels like Alaska outside (plus when did goosebumps become trendy huh) ! So yes , call me boring but id rather be wrapped in layers come January, and when im heading out for a fun afternoon date, this outfit is a staple.
1. The brown tights are the MOST genius thing i own. You see they look like normal tights, but from the inside they are lined with fur. So they are warmer than any jeans or leg warmers or anything you can own. Plus i feel like a furry cat when i wear them ! :p
2. Blue Denim skirt picked up while street shopping in Sarojini Nagar like 5 years back
3. Warm Blue Woollen sweater is a gift from the mommy !
4. Blue pumps are from New York . I got these from Payless for like 1000 Rupees !
5. Orange bag is from Tory Burch. Blue with one pop of orange is my favourite thing to wear !
See..i can totally model for these blue pumps haan.
