We are absolutely in love with this ultra chic yet professional look that she has put together. This look is also perfect for transitioning into fall with the gorgeous trench coat. “As soon as the summer season begins to shift, so does my wardrobe. I love to utilize pieces I already own and mix them in with new to create a fresh and updated look as we make the transition into the cooler months. Ladylike shift dresses are also perfect one-minute outfit fixes for a polished work look.
Bold stripes and patterns add instant edge to any outfit, this shift dress allows you to still make a bit of a statement but in a professional way by adding a blazer or trench coat and some accessories to complete the look.
Denim is often a faux-pas depending on your office setting, however can be work appropriate when paired with the right pieces, like a button-down blouse. Casual, yet polished. With so many options and styles available, button down shirts are sophisticated but can also have some playful details – shop for unique details like pocket embellishments, cuff links or a pop of color.

I went to University in Vancouver and majored in Business with a concentration in Marketing. Looking back now, I can’t think of a better area of focus to prepare me for what I am doing today. After landing my “dream job” at an Advertising Agency straight out of University, I quickly came to the realization that my true passion and calling was the side-project I’d been whole-heartedly tending to over the last year and a half, my lifestyle blog ‘The Working Girl’, focused on fashion, lifestyle and career. In that time, while still juggling my 9-5 career I had wonderful opportunities working with brands such as Happy Planet, West Elm, Jacob’s Creek and Bosa Properties to name a few.
Since making the switch from agency, I now work from my home office on fresh material, new collaborations as well as my e-commerce boutique linking to my must-have items of the season. A typical day includes coffee and checking emails, styling looks, working with brands, scouting locations, managing my social media channels and everything else in between. I wear every hat in my business and style becomes a huge part of that. I love creating modern day, work appropriate looks that can take me from my desk to meetings in the city and straight to dinner!”

STYLE & BEAUTY // HOW TO STYLE A COLD WEATHER OUTFIT WITH LA LABEL JUNKIE

outfit-inspiration
We are way too excited about the colder weather finally rolling in! With this cold weather comes more clothes, though, making it complicated to put together the perfect outfit. It’s hard to find the balance between fashion and warmth! We’re thrilled to have Andrea Corson of La Label Junkie on BFFF today to show us how to style an amazing cold weather look! A black and white chic outfit is perfect for a date, a night out with your girlfriends, or to run errands on the weekend. Check out Andrea’s cold weather look and her tips for staying warm and fashionable this winter:
fall-layering
“Winter outfit inspo is the most challenging of all four seasons, in my opinion. Let’s be honest: It can be tricky to think of how you’re going to pull it all together aesthetically when you’re barely able to figure out how to keep your tootsies dry while simultaneously preventing frostbite. There are survival tactic objectives under these circumstances AND you’re supposed to look chic and effortless?Yeah..right. Surprisingly, figuring it all out isn’t as difficult as one would think. Putting it all together is nearly formulaic (in a good way!). Start with your timeless pieces as building blocks and sprinkle in the  trends that pique your interest. The F/W 2015 runways were full of inspiration to throw into the mix this year: head to toe black and white, luxurious velvet pieces, candy colored pastels, not to mention a 70s, 80s and 90s revival all in one season. And in case you’re looking for a few simple ideas to spice up your winter wardrobe, scope out my tips below.

Rethink layering
Who says you can only wear one jacket? One of my favorite ways to layer up on especially cold days is to double up on coats. Pair a blazer with an oversized wool coat. Or freshen up an old coat that’s been hanging out in the back of your closet by layering this season’s signature long vest underneath. Don’t be afraid to get creative! There are so many incredible pieces out this year for layering, so venture out of your comfort zone and consider trying something you wouldn’t normally.

Repurpose seasonal items you’ve banished from your winter wardrobe
Who says you can’t wear skirts and stay nice and toasty this winter? Add a pair of thick, tall socks or show-stealing over-the-knee boots and top off your ensemble with a long topper to break any wind gusts coming your way. You’ll be snug as a bug.

faux-eternity-scarf
You aren’t getting the most out of your scarf if you are only wearing it one way! Veronika from By The Shore is back today to show us how to tie our scarves three different ways to spruce up any outfit. This fall inspired look can be worn anywhere while the scarf adds some color! It’s amazing how one scarf can be so versatile, we are definitely taking notes! Check out how Veronika styles her scarf below and her trick for how to fake an eternity scarf:

Wear It Loose
Adding a scarf is the perfect way to transition your outfit into fall and I love wearing mine wrapped loosely around my neck! Plus it adds an effortless pop of pattern to jeans & a tee, a simple black dress, or with a pencil skirt to the office!
Tie It On Your Bag
Don’t you love adding a scarf to your favorite tote or designer handbag?! I absolutely love this look and do it often, especially if I’m out brunching or shopping on the weekend. It’s such an easy way to add interest to your outfit, plus you can wrap it around you when it gets cooler in the evening. Perfect, right?
Faux Eternity Scarf
Eternity scarves are absolutely one of my all time favorites and I love converting my regular scarves into them. So easy too, just tie your ends in a knot, wrap twice, and you’re all set!
What’s your favorite way to wear scarves?”

“I love winter coats with color to easily brighten up your complexion. Even though a black coat is a staple for any wardrobe, it’s fun to change it up with a little color! Featuring a new party skirt in emerald paired with a black bodysuit, this look is easy to throw together. I must have 18 party skirts by now, they are perfect for every season and can be dressed up or down in so many ways! I finished off my outfit with black Louboutins and Elsa Corsi Jewelry for the perfect amount of sparkle for a night out. With full Bridget Bardot inspired hair, this look is girly and fun! I wanted to keep my makeup feminine which I achieved by wearing my favorite peachy warm nude lipstick that is flattering on all skin tones and mink lashes for extra glam. I finished my makeup with my new favorite palette for the face and eyes, which is perfect to take your look from day to night perfection.”
