Mesmerizing and Mysterious Swirls

How To Create The Look

Here’s what I love about this type of fairy eye makeup look. You can choose your favorite makeup style and then enhance it with that little extra fantasy frosting. As you can see from the photo above the look starts out with a gorgeous formal makeup look. The classic brown eyeshadow combined with red lipstick gives it a Hollywood feeling. A 1920s makeup look would be perfect for this. Then it’s time to dress it up.

How to draw the fantasy swirls:

1 Take a black gel eyeliner pen. Make sure it’s one with a fine point.2 Start at the outer corner of your eye and and make a half oval curve above your eyebrow.3 Add a thicker swirl on the end. Do the same for the outer area and cheeks.4 Now branch out. The swirls don’t have to match.

How to embellish the design:

1 Use false eyelash adhesive.2 Choose sequins that are the same color as the lines you drew. In this case black sequins work.3 Place a curved lines of sequins above the brow, the outer middle are and the cheeks.4 Add a few select single sequins and scatter them in the design to balance it out.

Variations of Fairy Eye Makeup

This make up style works for elegant looks and gothic fairy makeup looks. Don’t worry if  dark looks aren’t your thing. You can change it up by substituting colors. Here are a few makeup tips to do just that.
Use a blue eye pencil and combine it with crystal sequins or lighter blue sequins for a perfect winter fairy make up look.

Green eyeshadow paired with same color for the swirls works for forest creatures.
Purple can be used and looks sensational with light pink and violet eyeshadows. Top with purple mascara. Change it up with a little pink sparkle added. You could also use a little glitter for the dots.

Dying to go gothic?  Pick one of your metallic eyeshadows and have at it. Cover your eyelids entirely and then add the swirls.

I bet you’ll never look at those eyeliner pens the same now! Grab one next time you have a few moments to play and make sure to capture your favorite fairy eye makeup pic to share.

Step 4 Smudge under your eyes with a cotton swab. You may need a second coat. If so, now is the time to apply it.
Step 5 Line both your upper and lower eyelids using the easy eyeliner method.
Step 6 Take a pale color of eyeshadow in an ivory or very light pink and use it under your eyebrows to give more emphasis to the crease color. Place a little at the inner corner of the eye area next to the bridge of your nose.
Step 7 Use a black mascara and apply with the smudge proof mascara technique.

Step Two: Line your eyes with black. You can do this with either an eye pencil or your dry eyeshadow. If you are using eyeshadow then dip a flat liner brush into distilled water and then into your eyeshadow. Run it all the way across your lash line. Next – smudge it! Step Four: For an evening look use metallic eyeshadows and light pink or white highlighting under the brow. Glitter makeup can top off the look.

Three Shades Of Eyeshadow
Three shades of eyeshadow will give you a variety of makeup looks. Once you’ve mastered the one color eyeshadow look it’s fun to improve your skills and learn techniques that will help you get more from your eye makeup products. This makeup tutorial presents easy makeup tips to make three colors work beautifully for you.

Neutral Eyeshadow Colors

The basic eyeshadow colors you need when you want to learn how to apply three shades of eyeshadow are a light, medium, and dark color. The easiest way to get these colors to coordinate with each other is to choose an eyeshadow palette in a neutral color like this one from Almay Cosmetics. Using one of the best eyeshadow palettes makes it easier. Then, when you’ve got the technique down you’ll be able to use any eye makeup color with ease.

Applying Eyeshadow Colors

Once you have your eyeshadow palette, select an angled eye shadow brush to apply your makeup with. There’s a good example of what this brush looks like on the how to put on eyeshadow page. We’re going to use the same brush for learning how to apply three shades of eyeshadow. Yes, you can use the same brush for this tutorial on all the colors. You’ll just use different parts of the brush.

Light Eyeshadow Color: Light eyeshadow color goes on the prominent parts of your eye.

1. Take your brush and swipe the flat part of your brush on the eyeshadow.

2. Place the flat part of the brush to your lid and swipe on the color.

3. The color will go on your eyelid and under your eyebrow bone as a highlight.

Medium Eyeshadow Color: Medium shadow color is a crease color. This is also the color that seems to give women the most problem.

1. The way to get it right is to take your same brush, but rather than swipe the entire brush into medium color just swipe the very tip of the brush and the sides of the brush.

2. Take the tip of the brush and run it along the crease of your eyelid and slightly beyond the outer corner of your eye moving out and upward.

Dark Eyeshadow Color: When you’re learning how to apply three shades of eyeshadow, think of the dark eye shadow color as the accent color. This is the color that you will use to line your eyes with and add extra depth with.

1. Set down your slanted eyeshadow brush and pick up your flat edge eyeliner brush.

2. Take the tip of the brush and pick up the eyeshadow by dabbing it on the tip.

3. Apply the dark eyeshadow color close to your lash line using the directions on how to apply
eyeliner page. It’s the easy models method and it works for everyone.

Putting on eyeshadow is easier than it’s ever been before. If you use an eyeshadow palette from one of the major companies, take your time and practice a few professional makeup artist tips you’ll be well on your way to creating any makeup style you choose.

This combination can be used to open up your eyes and with just a hint of shimmer it provides that healthy look you desire. It is a long lasting color and is water resistant. There’s a huge selection of crazy colored contact lenses to choose from out there so how do you narrow it down? Ask yourself three questions:
1. Do I want enhanced color that I can also wear on other special occasions?
This is a type of look that will change the appearance of your natural eye color by adding intensity in the form of color. Think light blue to dark blue or even dark green.
2. Do I want a color that totally changes my look in a dramatic way, but would still be wearable for events like fairy festivals and night parties?
Think violets, purples, multiple colors or fun designs.
3. Do I want a totally outlandish pair that works with a costume?
This is where cat eyes and vampire red lenses fit in. If you want to recreate a look or use them for multiple events, then go for these.

Removing Contacts – Be Safe

Creating fantasy makeup looks with crazy colored contact lenses is great fun. To keep it that way make sure you wash your hands first before applying your contacts. Put the contacts on in an area where you are away from the dust created by applying powder cosmetics. It’s important to keep your eyes clean.

When the evening is finished you should again wash your hands and then remove your contacts. Don’t go without disinfecting them because you definitely want your specialty lenses to be suitable for multiple-use. After all, you never know when you might feel the need to morph into the fictional world again!

Use this photo as reference.

These steps will get you started. First, you’ll prep the eye area and then you’ll start applying colors. Once the colors have been applied, you’ll finish off your design with the liquid eyeliner.

1. Make sure that you’ve cleansed your eyelids to remove any old makeup and excess oil from your eyelids.

2. Use eye drops if you need them to give your eyes a clear bright look.

3. Prep the area with an eye makeup primer in either a light beige, ivory or white.

5. Apply one bright color like a yellow, gold or light bronze to the entire eyelid area.

6. If you want to use a second color then use it in the crease area, but remember to apply it lightly and only suggestive of a shadow.

7. Now apply the same color below your eyes. You should have the color completely surrounding your eyes, that means the area closet to your nose also.

8. Take your eyeliner product and do a thin line from the inner eye area next to your nose and extend it all the way to the outer corner.

Important: Don’t extend too far at the outer corner, because you’re going to do a series of spots (dots) in that area rather than a fishtail eye line.

9. Now, take your eyeliner and do a a triangle of spots extending the end all the way up to your eyebrows on the upper lid.

10. On the undereye area only, apply the spots from the center of your eyes outward.

Now just top off your look with black mascara. You can do a little or a lot.

Isn’t it amazing how a few simple makeup tips can give you a professional cat eye makeup look? Now, that you’ve got the easiest of techniques down, change up your makeup. Try different colors and patterns of spots. You’ll have “purrrfect makeup” in no time!

Makeup Look-Matte Brown Eyes With Muted Lips

I love playing with brown eye shadows. They look decent and glam at the same time. Moreover, these shades work great for just any occasion and any time. And, if you need to wear these brown colors for an evening party all you need to add is some golden shimmer and you will be all ready to rock the evening. The downside of brown eye makeup is it does not show up that easily, especially on Indian skin tones, of course unless you have a very fair complexion. But that should not stop you from wearing these colors. You can easily build them up to increase the intensity and make them look more visible.

Of lately, I created this brown eye makeup look and paired it up with edgy black eyeliner. If you follow me on Instagram then you must have already seen this look. It was a day time look so I did not build up the intensity but if you want to recreate it for an evening you can either use darker shades of brown or add some shimmer to this look. I also kept my lip color slightly muted but if you prefer you can surely go for a loud lip color with this look. Red would look awesome with matte brown eyes.

Makeup Breakdown:

Base Makeup: I had to wear this makeup for a short duration so I directly applied L’Oreal Paris Infallible foundation. It is a nice foundation for day look. It gives sheer to medium coverage and a matte finish so in nutshell perfect for oily skin. I skipped primer as I was not worried about the longevity of this look.

Eye Makeup: For eyes, I did not use many colors just a couple of them. ‘Rodeo Ready’ shade from Zoeva Rodeo Belle eye shadow palette as a base on entire eye lid and then Western Diva shade at the outer V and lower lash line. For this look the brow bone should be highlighted and you can use any light color (1-2 tones lighter than your skin) for that matter. Eye liner is a significant part of this look, so I used Sugar Eye Told You So Waterproof Eyeliner in Black Swan shade. I kept it thick but if you like you can go for thicker eyeliner as well. Finally I finished the eye makeup using black kohl on waterline, and curling up the lashes with mascara.

Lips & Cheeks: On my lips you see Holly Golightly shade from Sugar cosmetics. This is quite a wearable shade and easy to carry too. It is a nice option if you prefer muted lip colors. For blush, I have applied MAC all’s good shade that went well with the overall look.

Well, that’s all for this look. How do you find it ?

Step by Step Smokey Brown Eyeshadow Tutorial!

Smokey Brown Eyeshadow Tutorial

A brown smokey eye is a great look if you want a dramatic look, without being too dark. The pop of gold on the inner third of the eye really brightens up the eye and adds a bit of light to make the eyes really stand out. This look works really well on all eye colors - brown, hazel/green or blue. If you're light complected and don't feel comfortable with a look this dark, you can soften it up a bit by skipping the black liner and using a deep brown or charcoal - or you can skip the liner all together. If you have small eyes, black on the waterline can make the eyes appear even smaller, so to avoid this, make sure the eyeshadow on your bottom lash line is extra smokey and extended out and apply a good coat of mascara to the bottom lashes. Adding a flesh toned, ivory or brown liner to your waterline is also an option to open up the eyes. To keep this look more daytime appropriate, you can stop at Step 7 and finish off with mascara.
